Packers NT Letroy Guion Suspended 3 Games

The NFL announced Thursday that Packers NT Letroy Guion has been suspended for the first three games for the 2015 season for violating the substance abuse policy.

Green Bay was hoping that the suspension would be reduced following an appeal, but it appears as though the NFL wasn’t swayed in the appeal’s process.

Guion, 28, was arrested on February 3rd in possession of marijuana and an unloaded hand gun. The case was settled without a conviction, but the expectation was that Guion would still likely to be suspended under the league’s personal conduct policy.

The Packers re-signed Guion to a one-year, $2.75 million contract back in March.

In 2014, Guion recorded 32 tackles, 3.5 sacks and has been a solid run-defender in the middle the Packers’ defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 61 defensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players last year.
