Packers options at Linebacker

As we have discussed previously, the Green Bay Packers are still looking to solidify the outside-linebacker position across from rookie-sensation Clay Mathews. The team planned to use Brandon Chillar there but he obviously struggled last week against the Browns. Thankfully for the Packers, Chillar showed some improvement last night against the Seahawks.

Green Bay hasn’t given any indication that they are looking outside of the organization to fill any potential holes but there are options available that they may be forced to explore if the struggles persist. Adalius Thomas is still an available option but he hasn’t drawn that much interest this offseason. The Baltimore Ravens are one team that has some depth at the position but they are in need of secondary help and the Packers aren’t likely to deal anyone since they have limited depth in the secondary. The final preseason games should give the team a better idea of whether or not they will need to make a move.
