Packers Place 6 On Active/PUP List Including WR Jordy Nelson, Cut Two

The Green Bay Packers have placed six players on the active/PUP list on Monday, according to Rob Demovsky. This group consists of WR Jordy Nelson, TE Jared Cook, LB Sam Barrington, G T.J. Lang, C Corey Linsley and WR Ty Montgomery.

  • Demovsky adds that the Packers also placed RB Don Jackson (non-football injury) and DE B.J. McBryde on waivers.

These players can return to practice once activated. However, if they remain on PUP list to start the regular season, they would miss at least the first six weeks.

Nelson, 31, is working his way back from a season-ending ACL tear he sustained during the preseason. Green Bay has made it clear that they will be cautious with their No. 1 receiver, so we may not see him until the start of the season.

Nelson is in the third year of his five-year, $43 million contract that included a $11.5 million signing bonus. He stands to make a base salary of $5.5 million for the 2016 season.

In 2014, Nelson appeared in all 16 games and recorded 98 receptions for 1,519 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns.
