Packers Place 6 Players On IR Including Jared Abbrederis, Don Barclay & B.J. Raji

The Packers announced that they have placed six players on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday as they got down to 75 players.

The players placed on injured reserve include: WR Jared Abbrederis, OL Don Barclay, RB Rajion Neal, DT B.J. Raji, LB Joe Thomas and G Andrew Tiller.

Raji, 28, is the most notable of these players seeing he was set to be the team’s starting nose tackle.

He was hoping to cash in on the open market, but he was later forced to sign a one-year contract worth just $4 million with the Packers. This injury won’t help his chances of securing a solid long-term contract next year, but could increase his chances of returning to the Packers.

Barclay, 25, is a reserve lineman who is capable of playing multiple positions on the offensive line. He unfortunately suffered a torn ACL during a practice a few weeks ago.

Abbrederis is a local favorite after walking on at the University of Wisconsin and going to have a remarkable college career.

The Packers have a lot of depth at receiver, so it’s not as though they were counting on Abbrederis playing a major role in year one.
