Packers Place LS Brett Goode On IR, Re-Sign LS Taybor Pepper

The Green Bay Packers announced Monday that they’ve placed LS Brett Goode on injured reserve and signed LS Taybor Pepper.

Goode suffered a hamstring injury on Sunday and given that a team can’t afford to carry an injury long snapper on their roster, they elected to shut him down for the year.

Goode, 31, originally signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2007. He later caught on with the Jaguars before eventually signing with the Packers at the start of the 2008 season.

Good returned to the Packers at the start of the regular season. He has spent the past nine years in Green Bay.

In 2017, Goode appeared in all three games for the Packers.

Pepper, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Michigan State last year and wasn’t signed to a contract for the 2017 season. The Packers did, however, sign Pepper to a future/reserve contract this past January.

However, Green Bay elected to cut Pepper loose shortly after this year’s NFL draft. The Ravens signed him to a contract in late August but he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

Pepper has yet to appear in an NFL game.
