Packers Place TE Andrew Quarless On Short-Term I.R.

The Green Bay Packers announced Wednesday that they’ve placed TE Andrew Quarless on injured reserve with the designation to return.

This move shouldn’t come as a major surprise, seeing as Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported yesterday that Quarless will miss 4-to-6 weeks with a sprained MCL.

Green Bay will now be without Quarless for the next eight weeks, while he rehabs his knee.

Quarless, 26, still has one year remaining on his Signed a two-year, $3 million contract, which includes a base salary of $1.3 million to go along with a $200,000 roster bonus and a $75,000 workout bonus.

There had been talk that Quarless could be cut loose following an incident in which he fired a gun in Florida during the offseason, but Green Bay elected to stand by him.

In 2014, Quarless appeared in all 16 games for the Packers and caught 29 passes for 323 yards receiving and three touchdowns.

There’s a chance that Packers could add another tight end at some point this week.
