Packers Placing OT Jason Spriggs On Injured Reserve

Ian Rapoport reports that the Packers are placing OT Jason Spriggs on injured reserve Thursday to make room for veteran DL Ricky Jean Francois, who has been re-signed.

Spriggs has been a disappointment for the Packers and has really struggled to hold up against opposing defenses. He will be eligible for return to the team in eight weeks, assuming the Packers would want to activate him from the injured reserve list at that point.

Kyle Murphy has been serving at the team’s primary swing tackle this year.

Spriggs, 23, is a former second-round pick of the Packers back in 2016. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $5.004 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $677,468 and $904,936 over the next two years.

In 2017, Spriggs was limited to appearing in just one game for the Packers.
