Packers Promote RB Lavon Coleman, Place CB Will Redmond On IR

Rob Demovsky reports that the Green Bay Packers have promoted RB Lavon Coleman to their active roster and placed CB Will Redmond (shoulder) on injured reserve Saturday.

The Packers needed some depth at running back and Coleman will now join Jamaal Williams and Kapri Bibbs as Green Bay’s available backs for Week 16.

Coleman, 24, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Washington back in May. He lasted just a few months in Houston before he was waived later signed to the Seahawks’ practice squad.

Coleman eventually joined the Packers’ taxi squad in October.

During his college career at Washington, Coleman rushed for 2,000 yards on 374 carries (5.3 YPC) to go alogn with 31 receptions for 252 yards receiving and 15 total touchdowns over the course of 46 games.
