Packers Promote OLB Reggie Gilbert, Place CB Demetri Goodson On IR

Michael Cohen is reporting that the Packers have promoted OLB Reggie Gilbert to the active roster on Friday.

  • The Packers confirmed the move and announced that they’ve also placed CB Demetri Goodson on injured reserve.

Gilbert, 24, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona back in May of last year. He was waived at the start of the regular season and spent the 2016 season Green Bay’s practice squad.

The Packers brought Gilbert back on a future/reserve contract this past January but once again waived him at the start of the regular season. Gilbert was later signed to their practice squad.

During his college career at Arizona, Gilbert recorded 144 tackles, 28 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, four forced fumbles and two pass defenses over the course of four seasons.
