Packers Promoting RB Don Jackson To Active Roster

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Packers are expected to promote RB Don Jackson from their practice squad ahead of Thursday’s game against the Bears.

This comes after the news that RB Eddie Lacy is being placed on injured reserve with a foot injury. Green Bay is also without RB James Starks, who is likely to miss around four weeks following knee surgery.

Last week, the Packers were forced to use Randall Cobb and Ty Montgomery at running back against Cowboys with Starks out of the lineup.

Jackson, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Nevada. Green Bay waived him in July but later signed him to their practice squad at the start of the season.

During his college career, Jackson ran for 2,368 yards on 527 carries (4.5 YPC) to go along with 23 receptions for 268 yards receiving and 21 total touchdowns over the course of 35 carries.
