Packers Place RB Cedric Benson On IR With The Designation To Return

Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the Packers have placed RB Cedric Benson on injured reserve with the designation that will allow him to return later in the season.

Head coach Mike McCarthy mentioned that he believes Benson has a shot of returning for the final four weeks of the season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Packers RB Cedric Benson does in fact have a Lisfranc injury that will cost him at least 8 weeks. Schefter adds that if doctors determine that he’ll require surgery, he would be almost certainly be done for the season.

The Packers 2012 season keeps getting worse. The Packers will have to turn to a committee made up of John KuhnAlex Green, and James Starks for the foreseeable future.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has ruled RB Cedric Benson out for week 6, per Ty Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Benson was seen sporting a walking boot around the Packers facility on Monday.

This certainly doesn’t bode well for the Packers as their struggled as soon as Benson left the game. To make matters worse, DT B.J. Raji and TE Jermichael Finley both are questionable to play against one the best teams in the NFL next weekend. John KuhnAlex Green, and James Starks will most likely share carries the team’s carries against the Texans, but they’ll really need a well executed gameplan to stand a chance.
