Packers RB James Starks Re-injures His Ankle

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy mentioned that RB James Starks did re-injury his ankle during Thanksgivings game against the Detroit Lions, via the Green Bay Press-Gazette .

It’s nothing horrible,” said Starks “Obviously, the knee was more of a concern because I was bent up and things like that and it felt weird a certain ways, but that went away fast.”

Starks was removed from last Thursday’s game during the second-half. Ryan Grant and Brandon Saine filled in for him but at that point the game was well in hand and there really was no reason to play him. Thankfully for the Packers, Starks’s injury in not serious. He’s by far their best option at running back even though Saine looked pretty good in the small amount of action that he received. Starks is likely to be questionable for Week 13’s game against the Giants.

  1. THANK GOD TED THOMPSON FINDS THESE GUYS  IF I WAS A GM, ON ANOTHER TEAM I WOULD TAKE AS MANY OF THERE PRACTICE SQUAD MEMBERS AS I COULD HE FINDS DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH.

    • It is pretty astounding that he’s been able to consistently find players that are capable of contributing despite not being highly touted draft picks. Mike McCarthy and his staff also deserves credit for developing guys like Tramon Williams, James Starks, and Desmond Bishop.
