Packers RB James Starks Expected To Miss Around 4 Weeks Following Knee Surgery

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that Packers RB James Starks is expected to be out around four weeks following knee surgery for a meniscus injury.

The Packers plan to take things involving Starks week to week.

Green Bay are likely to continue using Randall Cobb and Ty Montgomery at running back this week along with Eddie Lacy.

Starks, 30, is a former sixth-round pick of the Packers back in 2010. He has spent all six years of his career in Green Bay and re-signed with the team after testing the open market last offseason.

The Packers signed him to a two-year, $6 million contract that included a $1.5 million signing bonus and is set to make $1.1 million this season to go along with another $2.6 million in 2017.

So far this season, Starks has appeared in four games and recorded 42 rushing yards on 24 attempts (1.8 YPC). He has also caught six passes for 50 yards receiving.
