Packers RB Ty Montgomery Suffers Broken Ribs Thursday Night

Ian Rapoport reports that Packers RB Ty Montgomery sustained broken ribs during Thursday night’s game against the Bears.

Rapoport mentions that Montgomery suffered the injury early in the game and played through it for “several plays.” He will not return to the game.

The possible timetable for his recovery will likely be announced after further medical testing.

Montgomery, 24, is a former third-round pick by the Packers in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is in the third-year of a four-year, $2.949 million rookie contract and is set to earn a base salary of $615,000 this season.

So far this season, Montgomery has appeared in all four games for the Packers and has recorded 41 rushing attempts for 124 yards (3.0 YPC) and two touchdowns to go along with 18 receptions for 129 yards receiving and one touchdown.
