Packers Release Second-Year S Jerron McMillian

The Green Bay Packers announced that they have released second-year S Jerron McMillian to make room for RB Kahlil Bell.

McMillian, 24, was a fourth-round selection back in 2012, so it is a little surprising to see them part ways with a reasonably high draft pick after less than two years with the team.

McMillian played in 28 games with the Packers and tallied 28 tackles, one interception and six pass defenses. In 2012, McMillian actually graded out as an above-average safety, according to Pro Football Focus, but this season he has produced a well below-average rating of -10.5.

He could find interest on the open market in the coming days.
