Packers Reportedly Offered DT B.J. Raji A One-Year, $2M Deal

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Packers have offered free agent DT B.J. Raji a one-year contract worth $2 million.

  • Demovsky adds that Green Bay is still interested in re-signing Raji, even after he sustained a season-ending biceps injury last year.
  • Ian Rapoport of NFL Media previously reported that Raji would still like to return to Green Bay next year, but he plans to weigh offers from other teams.

The Packers have reportedly re-signed NT Letroy Guion to a one-year deal, but indications have been that they would like to have both players back next year.

Despite being out for the year, Raji elected to hang around the team, which is something that impressed HC Mike McCarthy.

I’m glad he stayed here,” McCarthy said at the Scouting Combine. “I’m glad he stayed with us and was part of the family. I thought it was good having him around, it was good for the young guys. So, hope to get him back, too. Would be great to have him back.

Raji, 28, was forced to sign a one-year contract worth $4 million after he found very limited interest on the open market last year.

Unfortunately for Raji, he sustained a torn right biceps shortly before the start of the season and was subsequently placed on season-ending injured reserve.

We have Raji listed as the No. 93 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
