Packers Scheduled To Interview Former Browns HC Mike Pettine For DC Job

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Packers are scheduled to interview former Browns HC Mike Pettine for their defensive coordinator job on Tuesday.

Green Bay has interviews set up with internal candidates including CBs coach Joe Whitt Jr, safeties coach Darren Perry and assistant HC/linebackers Winston Moss.

They’ve also been linked to Bears DC Vic Fangio, who becomes a free agent on Tuesday.

Pettine, 51, began his NFL coaching career with the Ravens as an assistant defensive line coach back in 2002. He spent seven years in Baltimore before taking over as the Jets defensive coordinator in 2009.

Pettine spent one year in Buffalo with the Bills before being hired as the Browns’ head coach for the 2014 season.

During his two years in Cleveland, Pettine led the Browns to a record of 10-22 (31.3 percent) before he was fired along with GM Ray Farmer.
