Packers Send LB Jamari Lattimore To I.R. & Promote S Chris Banjo

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Packers are sending LB Jamari Lattimore to the season-ending injured reserve list on Saturday and promoting S Chris Banjo from their practice squad.

There has been talk in recent weeks that Lattimore could eventually end up on I.R. due to an injury.

Lattimore, 26, is in the final year of his contract and will make a base salary of $1.431 million for the 2014 season. He could draw interest on the open market next year, but the Packers have shown a tendency to retain their young talent.

His 2014 season ends with him recording 37 tackles, one interception and a pass defense over the course of 11 games.

Banjo, 24, was mentioned as a player who could make the final roster cut coming out of the preseason, but he wound up being cut and later added to the team’s practice squad.

Last year, he appeared in 16 games and recorded 19 tackles and two pass defenses.
