Packers Sign 5 Players To Futures Deals Including WR DeAngelo Yancey

The Green Bay Packers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed five players futures deals including fifth-round WR DeAngelo Yancey.

The full list of signings includes:

  1. WR Jake Kumerow
  2. WR Colby Pearson
  3. TE Robert Tonyan
  4. LS Zach Triner
  5. WR DeAngelo Yancey

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

Yancey, 23, was taken in the fifth round of this year’s NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $2.62 million contract with the Packers and was set make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Packers waived him at the start of the season.

Yancey later re-signed to the Packers’ practice squad.

During his four-year college career at Purdue, Yancey caught 141 passes for 2,344 yards receiving (16.6 YPR) and 20 touchdowns for the Boilermakers. As a senior, Yancey finished in the top-10 in receptions yards and touchdowns while leading the league in yards per reception. He was voted second-team All-Big Ten in 2016.
