Packers Sign DT Joey Mbu

The Green Bay Packers announced Monday that they’ve signed DT Joey Mbu to a contract.

Mbu, 25, originally signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Houston back in 2015. He was on and off of the Falcons’ practice squad over his first two seasons in the NFL before the Redskins signed him to their taxi squad during the 2016 season.

Mbu returned to Washington on a futures contract last year but he was once again waived at the start of the regular season. The Colts later signed him to their practice squad and eventually called him up in November. Unfortunately, the Colts waived him shortly after this year’s draft.

In 2017, Mbu appeared in seven games for the Colts and recorded three tackles and no sacks.
