Packers Sign DT Letroy Guion To A Three-Year, $11.25M Deal

Update:

The Green Bay Packers officially announced that they’ve re-signed  DT Letroy Guion to a three-year extension on Friday.

Adam Caplan of ESPN is reporting that the Packers and DT Letroy Guion have agreed in principle to a three-year, $11.25 million extension.

This is an interesting move from the Packers, seeing as DT B.J. Raji is also a free agent. Some have suggested that Green Bay may have to choose between the two defensive tackles.

Raji has been forced to sign one-year deals in recent years due to injury and underwhelming play, so the Packers may have felt that they could keep Guion at a more affordable price.

Guion, 28, joined the Packers in 2014 and has become part of their defensive line rotation. He would have been an unrestricted free agent next month.

In 2015, Guion appeared in 13 games and recorded 21 tackles and no sacks for the Packers.
