Packers Sign RB Joel Bouagnon To Futures Deal

The Green Bay Packers announced Wednesday that they’ve signed RB Joel Bouagnon to a futures deal for the 2018 season.

As of now, the Packers have signed eight players to futures deals including:

  1. WR Jake Kumerow
  2. WR Colby Pearson
  3. TE Robert Tonyan
  4. LS Zach Triner
  5. WR DeAngelo Yancey
  6. G Kofi Amichia
  7. LB Ahmad Thomas
  8. RB Joel Bouagnon

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

Bouagnon, 22, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Illinois back in May. He stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract.

The Bears waived him with an injury designation during the and he later reverted to the team’s injured reserve list before he was eventually cut loose with an injury settlement.

During his college career, Bouagnon rushed for 2,912 yards on 600 carries (4.9 YPC) to go along with 44 receptions for 368 yards receiving and 34 total touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 43 games.
