Packers Expect Ryan Grant To Be Active Against Detroit

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters that they expect to have Ryan Grant for Sunday’s game against the Lions, despite the fact that he was brought in off of the street on Wednesday.

“Frankly, where we are from a health standpoint, we might not have a choice,” said McCarthy, per Adam Schein.

Green Bay has dealt with a rash of injuries this season which has resulted in them placing running backs Cedric Benson, James Starks and Johnny White on injured reserve. Alex Green figures to see the bulk of the workload against Detroit, but John Kuhn and Grant could at least see some limited work.

Jason Wilde reports that the Green Bay Packers have reached an agreement with their former running back Ryan Grant.

This comes shortly after reports surfaced that James Starks could be done for the season. Grant drew little interest on the open market, despite trying out for a number of teams this year, so there are definitely some questions regarding skill set at this point in time.

Alex Green figures to handle the bulk of the workload, but it will be interesting to see how long it takes for Grant to see some game action.
