Packers Sign Second-Round OT Jason Spriggs

The Green Bay Packers have signed second-round OT Jason Spriggs to a four-year deal on Monday, according to Aaron Wilson.

Green Bay still needs to sign first-round DT Kenny Clark and  third-round OLB Kyler Fackrell to complete their 2016 draft class.

Spriggs, 21, was taken with the No. 48 overall pick after the Packers elected to trade up for the offensive tackle prospect. There was talk that the Packers could target Spriggs has high as round one, but they still managed to get Kenny Clark in the first round and Spriggs later on.

The Packers will have some important decisions to make regarding their offensive line next year with David Bakhtiari, Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang all in line to be free agents. However, Spriggs could give them a long-term answer at left tackle if they’re unwilling to pay Bakhtiari a market value contract.

According to OverTheCap.com, Spriggs receives a four-year contract worth $5,004,300 to go along with a signing bonus of $1,839,492.

During his four-year career at Indiana, Spriggs made 47 starts and was a second-team All-Big Ten as a senior.
