Packers Sign LT David Bakhtiari To Four-Year Extension Worth Up To $51.67M

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Packers are signing LT David Bakhtiari to a four-year extension worth up to $51.67 million.

  • According to Rapoport, Bakhtiari receives an average $12 million per year in new money and is not in the top five for offensive linemen.
  • Tom Silverstein reports that Bakhtiari gets around $17 million fully guaranteed at signing and another $10.7 million in roster and workout bonuses.
  • There is also $2 million in Pro Bowl incentives in the contract, per Silverstein.

The Packers surprisingly cut veteran G Josh Sitton because they reportedly planned to address some of their other offensive linemen like Bakhtiari, and it appears as though Green Bay has followed through with this plan.

Bakhtiari, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.6 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $1.671 million for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Bakhtiari appeared in 14 games for the Packers.
