Packers Officially Cut 17 Players Including G Josh Sitton & ILB Sam Barrington

The Green Bay Packers have begun the process of trimming their roster down to 53 players. Here’s the list of roster cuts up to this point:

  3. DT Brian Price
  4. TE Casey Pierce
  5. FB Alstevis Squirewell
  6. OL Lucas Patrick
  7. RB Brandon Ross
  8. WR Herb Waters
  9. ILB Carl Bradford
  10. CB Robertson Daniel
  11. OLB Reggie Gilbert
  12. ILB Sam Barrington
  13. WR Geronimo Allison
  14. LB Beniquez Brown
  15. S Jermaine Whitehead
  16. LS Rick Lovato
  17. Josh Sitton

Other roster moves include:

Barrington, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Packers back in 2013. He’s in the final year of his four-year, $2.209 million contract and set to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season.

Sitton, 30, is a former fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2008. He’s in the final year of his six-year, $34.95 million contract that includes $8.9 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $5.9 million for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Sitton appeared in all 16 games for the Packers and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 6 guard out of 81 qualifying players.

Williams, 23, wound up going undrafted out of North Carolina back in May before signing on with the Packers a few weeks later.

During his four-year college career at UNC, Williams threw for 7,961 yards while completing 61.3 percent of his passes to go along with 61 touchdowns and 25 interceptions. He also contributed 2,458 yards rushing and 35 rushing touchdowns.
