Packers Sticking With Scott Tolzien For Week 12

Packers HC Mike McCarthy told reporters on Monday that ScottĀ Tolzien will remain their starting quarterback for Week 12’s game against the Vikings.

McCarthy mentioned that he hasn’t met with the medical staff regarding Aaron Rodgers‘ progress from a fractured collarbone.

“We all know he wants to play, wants to play as soon as he can,” said McCarthy, per Jason Wilde. “But those are big decisions.”

The Packers have dropped three straight since Rodgers went down are now sitting at 5-5 on the season. A win over Minnesota would at least keep them in the race for the NFC North, but Tolzien has already thrown five interceptions in two games, which is one more than Rodgers has thrown all season. ToĀ Tolzien’s credit, he has done a good job of completing passes down field, but he really needs to clean things up if the Packers are to come away with a much needed win.
