Packers TE Lance Kendricks Charged With THC Possession

Michael Cohen of PackersNews.com is reporting that Packers TE Lance Kendricks has officially been charged with possession of THC stemming from a traffic stop in September.

Court records show that Outagamie County district attorney in Outagamie County filed the charge Dec. 5, according to Cohen. Kendricks has a court appearance scheduled for Feb. 14, 2018.

Kendricks was stopped for going 81 in a 70 mph zone while he was on his way home from a Badgers football game on Sept. 2.

Police reportedly “could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.” Kendricks initially denied that there were any drugs in the car before later admitting that he had weed in the glove box.

Kendricks is facing a potential one-game suspension from the NFL.

Kendricks, 29, is a former second-round pick of the Rams back in 2011. He was in the third year of his four-year, $18.5 million contract when the Rams released him during the offseason.

Kendricks later signed a two-year, $4 million contract that included a $1.2 million signing bonus with the Packers back in March.

In 2017, Kendricks has appeared in 12 games for the Packers and recorded 11 receptions for 151 yards receiving and one touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 53 tight end out of 71 qualifying players.
