Packers Unlikely To Tender Restricted Free Agent LB Jamari Lattimore

Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press Gazette mentions that the Packers met with the agent for restricted free agent LB Jamari Lattimore, Tony Agnone, at the Combine this past weekend to discuss him being back with the team.

According to Agnone, the chances of the Packers offering him an original round tender of $1.389 million appear to be “slim and none.”

Dougherty adds that Green Bay would, however, be willing to sign him at a price closer to the $645,000 minimum for a player with three years of NFL experience.

“I’d think at that point, we’ll look at all different directions,” Agnone said. “I would assume his first love of course is the Packers, so we’ll see what happens on that front. We’ll have to see what there is to do, what there’s going to be.”

Lattimore, 25, did shown some signs of being a decent young player for the Packers last season, but if they are intent on finding upgrades for Dom Caper’s defense, you would have to think that they would consider using their cap space elsewhere.

Last year, Lattimore produced 34 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble over the course of 15 games. He was also a solid special teams contributor.
