Packers Waive QB Ryan Williams, Sign QB Marquise Williams

The Green Bay Packers officially placed QB Ryan Williams on waivers Thursday and signed undrafted rookie QB Marquise Williams to a contract.

Williams, 24, wound up signing a future/reserve contract with the Packers back in early January. He was one of four quarterbacks on the Packers’ roster and faced long odds of making the team with Brett Hundley firmed entrenched as their No. 2 quarterback.

Williams, 23, wound up going undrafted out of North Carolina a few weeks ago. During his four-year college career at UNC, Williams threw for 7,961 yards while completing 61.3 percent of his passes to go along with 61 touchdowns and 25 interceptions. He also contributed 2,458 yards rushing and 35 rushing touchdowns.
