Packers Waive RB Don Jackson

Michael Cohen, citing a source close to the situation, reports that the Packers have placed RB Don Jackson on waivers Monday.

This comes just a few days after Green Bay took three running backs in the draft including Jamaal Williams, Aaron Jones and Devante Mays, so it was clear that Jackson faced an uphill battle toward securing a roster spot this summer.

Jackson, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Nevada. Green Bay waived him in July but later signed him to their practice squad at the start of the season.

After sustaining some injuries at running back, the Packers called him during the season before placing him on injured reserve soon after. The Packers re-signed him to a one-year exclusive rights deal last month.

In 2016, Jackson appeared in three games for the Packers and ran for 32 yards on 10 carries (3.2 YPC) and no touchdowns.
