Packers Worked Out 3 Players Including Veteran TE Rob Housler

Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports that the Packers brought in three players for workouts on Tuesday including TE Rob HouslerThe Packers also worked out TE J.P. Holtz and LB Christian French.

The Packers are currently without TE Jared Cook, so it appears as though they’ve looking at some contingency options to consider moving forward.

Housler, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Cardinals who played out his rookie contract with the team. The Browns wound up signing him to a one-year, $1.76 million contract back in April of last year, but Cleveland wound up waiving him from their I.R. in November.

The Bears later signed him to a contract and decided to extend him for another year in March. Unfortunately, Chicago elected to release him last month.

In 2015, Housler appeared in 10 games and recording four receptions for 33 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
