Packers WR Geronimo Allison Suspended One Game For Substance Abuse Violation

Packers second-year WR Geronimo Allison has been suspended for theĀ first game regular season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, according to Adam Schefter.

Allison, 23, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois back in May of last year. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to their practice squad and eventually promoted to their active roster after Green Bay sustained some injuries at receiver.

The Packers brought Allison back on a one-year,Ā $615,000 exclusive rights several months ago.

In 2016, Allison appeared 10 games for the Packers and caught 12 passes for 202 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 301 total snaps last year.
