Panthers Bring Veteran OT J’Marcus Webb For A Tryout

Howard Balzer of Lockerdome.com reports that the Panthers brought in veteran OT J’Marcus Webb in recent days.

  • ESPN’s Adam Caplan reported earlier in the week that Webb has also visited with the Vikings.

Webb previously met with the Chiefs a few days into free agency, but there hasn’t been any reported interest since then.

The Vikings added a few a interior offensive linemen in David Yankey and Antonio (Tiny) Richardson during the draft, although Richardson was an undrafted free agent signing. It seems likely that they would want to see if Webb could provide some depth at offensive tackle.

Webb, 25, spent last season with the Vikings after some disappointing years in Chicago. The Bears used a seventh-round pick on Webb back in 2010.

Webb appeared in eight games for the Vikings, but was limited to playing just 108 snaps at right tackle.
