The Carolina Panthers announced that they’ve placed veteran CB Charles Tillman on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday and promoted CB Lou Young to their active roster.
Panthers HC Ron Rivera told reporters on Monday that Tillman suffered a torn ACL this past weekend.
Tillman, 32, signed a one-year, $1.75 million contract that included $350,000 guaranteed with the Panthers back in April. He would once again be a free agent in the coming months, but is facing a nine-month recovery from the ACL tear.
His 2015 season ends with him appearing in 12 games and recording 55 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, a recovery and seven pass defenses.
