Panthers DE Frank Alexander Suspended Four Games

The NFL announced on Friday that Panthers DE Frank Alexander has been suspended for the first four games of the 2014 season for violating the leagues Substances of Abuse Policy, per Steve Reed.

Alexander, 24, was taken by the Panthers in the fourth-round of the 2012 NFL Draft, but he plays behind two of the best defensive end in the games, which has limited his playing time.

Last year, he appeared in 12 games and totaled 15 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery for Carolina.

According to Pro Football Focus, he played 239 snaps, but received a below-average rating, even though he was decent in run-defense.
