Panthers Signing Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland To Three-Years, $24M Deal

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Panthers expected to sign CB Bashaud Breeland to a contract at the start of free agency on Wednesday.

  • According to Mike Garafolo, Breeland gets a three-year, $24 million deal that includes $11 million guaranteed from the Panthers.

Breeland, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.706 million contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season.

Breeland was testing the free agent market for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2017, Breeland appeared in 14 games for the Redskins and recorded 48 tackles, one interception returned for a touchdown and 16 pass defenses. He also contributed 280 kick return yards. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 54 cornerback out of 120 qualifying players.
