Pro Football Weekly reports that the Carolina Panthers are expected to release OLB Thomas Davis before his $8 million roster bonus is due on March 15.
Davis has said that he would like to stay in Carolina and is willing to renegotiate his deal. The report adds that the Panthers could re-sign him to a “modest short-term deal.”
Davis, unfortunately tore his ACL for the third time in less that two years which makes him a huge question mark in the years to come. Carolina still believes that he can be an effective player but there are certainly going to be concerns if they retain him.
