Adam Caplan, citing a league source, reports that the Panthers are expected to sign long-time Bears CB Charles Tillman to a contract.

Tillman was in Carolina and reportedly had a visit scheduled with the team for today, so it appears as though everything went well.

There is an obvious connection between the Panthers and Tillman given that Ron Rivera spent time with the Bears as their assistant HC/secondary coach.

Carolina tried to sign CB Alan Ball to an agreement in recent weeks, but he ultimately signed on with the Bears.

Tillman, 34 in February, unfortunately suffered a torn triceps back in September and was subsequently placed on season-ending injured reserve.

He finished the 2014 season with eight tackles and a pass defense over the course of two games.

We had Tillman listed as the No. 100 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
