Panthers Bringing In CB Brandon Boykin For A Visit, Four Teams Interested

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting that the Panthers are hosting free agent CB Brandon Boykin for a visit on Monday.

This is the first reported interest in Boykin since the free agent market opened over three weeks ago.

Fowler previously mentioned that the Falcons were believed to have interest in Boykin, but there hasn’t been any buzz regarding the idea since then.

Boykin, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012. He was traded to the Steelers last year for a 2016 fifth round pick after Pittsburgh sustained some injuries at cornerback.

Boykin currently testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time after playing out his rookie deal.

In 2015, Boykin was active for all 16 games and recorded 25 tackles, one sack, an interception, a forced fumble and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 38 cornerback out of 111 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
