Panthers Hosting Veteran OT Will Beatty For Workout, Cardinals Also Interested

Tom Rock of Newsday reports that the Panthers are hosting veteran OT Will Beatty for a workout on Wednesday.

  • Mike Jurecki reports that the Cardinals also have Beatty on their radar.

The market for Beatty appears to be picking up, as he worked out for the Jaguars last week and the Eagles are reportedly keeping tabs on him. However, Rock says that a return to the Giants is considered unlikely.

Beatty wound up undergoing multiple offseason surgeries for a torn left pectoral and a torn right rotator cuff, but his doctor says that he’s doing great.

He looks fabulous, he looks great,” said Dr. Frank Cordasco. “He’s done very, very well and I think he’ll contribute to a team. Obviously it remains to be seen which team, but I fully expect him back and contributing on an offensive line.

Beatty, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Giants back in 2009. He spent all six years of his career in New York before he was released in a move that freed up $4,175,000 in available cap space for the Giants.

Beatty’s 2015 season ended when tore his pectoral muscle while working in the weight room back in May of last year.

We have him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
