Panthers LB Luke Kuechly To Undergo Surgery On Left Shoulder

Jonathan Jones and Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observe reports that Panthers LB Luke Kuechly is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair a partially torn labrum in his left shoulder.

According to the report, Kuechly’s status for OTAs and minicamp remains uncertain at this point in time, but he is expected to be fully recovered in time for training camp in July.

Kuechly injured his shoulder during Week 17, but still played at a high level through the playoffs wearing a brace.

Kuechly, 24, signed a six-year, $64.105 million contract last offseason and stands as one of the best inside linebackers in the NFL.

In 2015, Kuechly appeared in 13 games for 118 total tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, one sack and scored one defensive touchdown. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 1 overall inside linebacker from last season.

We will provide more information regarding Kuechly’s recovery as the news becomes available.
