Panthers HC Ron Rivera announced Monday that G Amini Silatolu suffered a torn ACL in his left knee and will be placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Silatolu, 27, is in the final year of his four-year $4.937 million rookie contract rookie and will make a base salary of $963,242 for the 2015 season.

This isn’t the first time Silatolu has suffered a season-ending injury, as he played in only three games during the 2013 season before he suffered a torn right ACL.

He also dealt with calf and knee injuries throughout his 2014 season that caused him to miss a total of nine games.

Silatolu was injured while filling in for LG Andrew Norwell, who’s will likely return from injury this week.
