Panthers Promote OT David Foucault, Waive DE Wes Horton

The Carolina Panthers announced Saturday that they’ve promoted OT David Foucault to their active roster and waived DE Wes Horton.

Foucault, 26, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Montreal back in May of last year. He managed to make the team coming out of the preseason last year, but he was unfortunately among the team’s final roster cuts a month ago.

Carolina wound up adding him to their practice squad just a day after he was waived.

Horton, 25, also signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out USC back in 2013. He’s in the final year of his three-year, $1.485 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $585,000 for the 2015 season.

This year, Horton has appeared in three games and recorded two tackles for the Panthers.

Should he clear waivers, there’s a chance he could end up on the team’s practice squad.
