Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart Returns Looks Like A Go For Week 2

Ron Green Jr of the Charlotte Observer writes that all indications suggest that Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart will play in Week 2’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Stewart has been hampered by an ankle injury, but he has been able to participate in practices throughout the week.

“He’s looked better and better,” Rivera said. “You could see he didn’t think about it.”

According to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer, Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart returned to practice on a limited basis.

Stewart has missed last week’s game after suffering a sprained ankle close to two weeks ago. The Panthers’ offense really missed him, as they only totaled 10 yards on 13 carries. The fact Carolina recently gave Stewart a five-year contract extension would suggest that they would look to feature him once healthy, so it will be interesting to see how they divvy up their workload this weekend.
