Panthers Re-Sign LB Ben Jacobs To Two-Year Contract

The Carolina Panthers announced Wednesday that they’ve re-signed LB Ben Jacobs to a two-year contract.

Jacobs was in line to be a restricted free agent next month.

Jacobs, 28, wound up signing on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State back in 2011. He spent over a year in Cleveland before briefly playing for the Bengals and later signing a future/reserve contract with the Panthers at the end of the 2014 season.

Jacobs returned to Carolina on a one-year exclusive rights deal back in March of last year. However, he was released from injured reserve with a settlement at the start of the regular season. The Panthers elected to bring him back in December.

In 2016, Jacobs appeared in four games for the Panthers.
