Panthers Re-Sign RFA WR Brenton Bersin

The Carolina Panthers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed restricted free agent WR Brenton Bersin to a one-year contract.

The Panthers weren’t going to tender him a restricted offer, but it appears they were able to sign him to a more reasonable one-year contract.

Bersin, 26, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Wofford back in 2012. The Panthers brought Bersin back on a one-year, exclusive rights deal last year before he was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the practice squad.

Carolina promoted him to their active roster a few weeks later. The Panthers cut him during last season only to bring him back soon after.

In 2016, Bersin appeared in 10 games for the Panthers and caught two passes for 17 yards receiving.
