Panthers Re-Sign S Colin Jones To Two-Year, $2.4M Deal

The Carolina Panthers announced Tuesday that they’ve re-signed S Colin Jones to a two-year contract.

David Newton reports that Jones receives a two-year contract worth $2.4 million.

Jones, 29, is a former seventh-round pick of the 49ers back in 2011. He spent one year in San Francisco before he was traded to the Panthers at the start of the 2012 season.

Carolina elected to bring him back on a two-year extension back in 2014. He was in line to be an unrestricted free agent in the coming days.

In 2016, Jones appeared in 14 games and recorded six tackles and no interceptions.
