Panthers Re-Sign S Marcus Ball To Practice Squad

The Carolina Panthers announced Thursday that they’re signing S Marcus Ball to their practice squad now that he’s passed through waivers unclaimed.

The Panthers’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. DT Eric Crume
  2. LB Brian Blechen
  3. S Travell Dixon
  4. WR Keyarris Garrett
  5. CB Zach Sanchez
  6. TE Beau Sandland
  7. RB Jalen Simmons
  8. DE Larry Webster
  9. G David Yankey
  10. S Marcus Ball

Ball, 29, signed as a free agent with the Argonauts back in February of 2012. He spent two years with the Argonauts and totaled  142 tackles, seven sacks, four interceptions, two returned for touchdowns and three fumble recoveries over this time.

New Orleans wound up signing him to a three-year contract in April of 2014 and Ball would go on to appear in 12 games and recorded 16 tackles for the Saints.

Ball later caught on with the Panthers last year but was, unfortunately, among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason. The Panthers later signed him to their practice squad before being called up last week.

Carolina cut Ball on Tuesday to make room for veteran S Michael Griffin.

In 2016, Ball has been active for one game but has yet to record a statistic.
