Panthers Release Veteran LB Ben Jacobs From I.R. With Settlement

The Carolina Panthers officially released veteran LB Ben Jacobs from injured reserve with a settlement.

Jacobs, 28, wound up signing on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State back in 2011. He spent over a year in Cleveland before briefly playing for the Bengals and later signing a future/reserve contract with the Panthers at the end of the 2014 season.

Jacobs returned to Carolina last year on a one-year exclusive rights deal back in March.

In 2015, Jacobs appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and recorded 15 tackles.
